I am all that has
had a hand in me
so many hands have lifted me,
so many hearts have carried me,
so many legs have taken me on
the journey to myself,
so many lives have fleshed me.
I am a nation they think
should not collapse.
I lay there
—in their hands,
in their heart, in their mind,
in their lives, as a seed laid
in soil. I sprout & I blossom
in multiples. I am not all myself:
a body grew me,
a hand kept me,
a heart carries me,
a leg led me.
I am all that has a hand
in me
