Cords​

I try to chronicle the wonder of this journey
Expecting a new way to pen the feelings
I find down these roads.
But in my search for novelty
I meet
Tradition

I am not the first here.
I am of many.

Instead, I take comfort
In the path pre-trodden
By eons of others.
This small life
Tethers me to them

All mothers I will never know
But have, myself
  become.
